AI Tool Launch Video Template
A 45-second structure for launching an AI product: show a real input, show the real output, then explain why it is better than doing it by hand. Viewers have seen enough vague AI promises; this template is built on proof.
When to use this template
Use it to launch an AI product or a major AI feature, on Product Hunt, X, LinkedIn or your landing page. AI launches face a specific problem: viewers assume the demo is cherry-picked or staged. The fix is to show the input and output clearly, in the real interface, at close to real speed.
For a single new AI capability inside an existing product, the feature release template is a better fit.
The structure explained
- Promise (0–4s). The task and the time saved, in plain words.
- Reveal (4–6s). Name and logo.
- Input (6–14s). What the user gives the AI. Make it readable: zoom into the prompt or file.
- Output (14–26s). The result appearing. If generation is slow, speed up the wait and say so on screen.
- Comparison (26–33s). Manual steps on one side, your flow on the other.
- Features and trust (33–40s). Integrations, control, privacy.
- Call to action (40–45s). One action.
Example voiceover script
- "Writing up a meeting shouldn't take longer than the meeting."
- "This is [Product]."
- "Drop in a recording from any call."
- "A couple of minutes later you have the decisions, the action items with owners, and a follow-up email ready to send."
- "No more replaying the call or copying notes between tabs."
- "It works with recordings from the tools you already use, and you can edit everything before it goes out."
- "Try [Product] free at [product].ai."
Customising tips
- Pick a representative example. Choose an input that shows typical quality, not your single best result.
- Show the edit step. Viewers trust AI tools more when they can see a human stays in control.
- Use Aurora or Kinetic. These presets suit AI launches; switch to your Brand style if you have strong brand colours.
- Keep the UI legible. Zoom into regions with small text. The screen recording to launch video feature explains zoom-to-region.
- Say what it does not do. A brief, honest limitation ("works best on calls under two hours") makes the rest of the demo more believable.
- Avoid abstract visuals. Glowing brains and particle effects say "AI" without saying anything about your product. Use the interface instead.
You can build this in Spotlight from your website URL and a couple of screen recordings; the AI director plans the scenes and you edit the details.
Scene-by-scene plan
16:9 · about 45s · Aurora style
- Text reveal — “Turn a two-hour task into a two-minute one.”The promise, stated concretely. Avoid generic AI phrasing; name the task.
- Logo reveal — “[Product]”Brief brand moment. AI audiences want the demo, so keep this short.
- UI demo — “Paste a meeting recording”The input. Use the typing animation or a cursor drop so viewers see exactly what goes in.
- Video clip — “Get action items, owners and a follow-up email”The output arriving. Use a real, lightly trimmed recording so it reads as genuine rather than mocked up.
- Comparison — “By hand vs with [Product]”Before and after. Compare steps or effort, not invented percentages.
- Feature grid — “Works with Zoom, Meet and Teams recordings”Integrations and trust signals: data handling, editing control, export options.
- End card — “Try it free at [product].ai”Clear call to action. If there is a waitlist, say so.
