AI Launch Video Generator
Spotlight turns your website, screenshots and screen recordings into a finished launch film. The AI reads your product, plans the story and builds a first cut in a couple of minutes — then you control every detail.
What the AI launch video generator does
You spent months building your product. Give it a launch video that looks like you spent months making that, too. That is the job Spotlight’s AI launch video generator is built for: getting from raw screenshots and recordings to a polished launch film without hiring an agency or learning a motion-design tool.
It does three things that a template editor can’t. First, it understands your product: it reads your website and fills a Product Profile with your name, tagline, audience, pain points, key features, differentiators, proof, tone of voice and brand colours, fonts and logo. Second, it understands your footage: a vision model studies every screenshot and clip, works out the key screens and where each feature sits on screen. Third, it plans the film: it writes the story, chooses scene types, places camera moves and zooms, and assembles a first cut.
The output is not a locked render. It is a fully editable timeline in the browser, so the AI does the heavy lifting and you keep the final say.
How it works
- Paste your website URL. The AI reads the site and builds a reusable Product Profile. It also captures desktop and mobile screenshots of your site automatically, so you have material even before you upload anything. Profiles are saved to your account — or start a one-off video without saving one.
- Add your materials. Upload screenshots (up to 20 MB each) and screen recordings (MP4 or MOV, up to 500 MB). Record with whatever you already use — QuickTime, OBS, Loom, Screen Studio or Cap.
- Let the AI director plan the film. It studies every asset, finds the moments that show your product at its best, writes the script and lays out the scenes. Your first cut is ready in a couple of minutes.
- Edit, then export. Change any scene, any line or any camera move. Export an MP4 in 1080p in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5.

What you control
The AI gives you a strong starting point. Everything after that is yours to change:
- Scenes. 14 scene types — title, text reveal, logo reveal, screenshot, UI demo, video clip, walkthrough, device mockup, feature grid, comparison, stat, slide, quote and end card. Add, remove, reorder or retime any of them.
- Camera and focus. Camera moves, zoom-to-region focus, highlights (spotlight, ring, blur, underline), animated cursor paths with clicks and typing animation.
- Look. Six style presets — Keynote, Aurora, Editorial, Precision, Kinetic and Clean — plus a Brand style built from your profile’s colours and fonts. Adjust palette, fonts, background, grain, vignette, corner radius and pacing, and save your own looks as presets.
- Overlays and transitions. Draggable text, badge, arrow and logo overlays, and 11 transition types.
- Sound. AI voiceover from a large library of natural voices, AI-generated instrumental music or your own track, automatic ducking under the voice, and sound effects.
- AI edits in plain English. Rewrite one scene from an instruction, generate three alternative versions of a scene, apply an instruction to the whole film (“tighten the pacing”, “lead with the AI feature”), or ask for “Suggest improvements” and apply the editor’s notes you agree with.
Undo and redo, autosave and full version history mean you can experiment freely and restore any earlier version.
Who it’s for
- Founders and indie hackers launching on Product Hunt, X or Hacker News who need a video this week, not next quarter. See the Product Hunt launch video guide.
- SaaS teams and product marketers who ship regularly and want a repeatable way to announce launches and features. See SaaS launch videos.
- App builders making promo cuts for social and store pages — see the app promo video maker.
- AI tool, developer tool and Chrome extension makers, whose products live on screen and are best shown, not described.
- Agencies producing launch videos for several clients, with a Product Profile and saved style per client.
Tips for a better result
- Feed it real footage. Screenshots get you a good film; short screen recordings of your key flows get you a much better one. One clip per feature, 10–30 seconds each, works well.
- Check the Product Profile first. The AI writes from it. If your one-liner or audience is off, fix it there and every scene improves.
- Give whole-film instructions. “Lead with the problem”, “cut it to 45 seconds” or “make the CTA about the free plan” are faster than editing scene by scene.
- Use real proof only. Stat and quote scenes are powerful, but only with numbers and quotes you can stand behind.
- Pick the length for the channel. See launch video length by platform before you export.
Try it free
The Free plan gives you one launch video project with the full editor, the AI first cut from your URL and 200 AI credits, and lets you export a watermarked 540p preview. No card required. When you’re happy, a one-off Launch Pass (€39 / $39) unlocks that video in 1080p without the watermark. See pricing or start from a template.
